Stopping Your Dog from Begging for Food
Many dogs like to beg for food while you are dining at the table. Most dog owners will give in to those cute puppy eyes, and give a little morsel of their food to the dog. If you respond to your dog, you will find that it will come to sit near your chair and beg for more food. Instead of giving food to the dog, you should ignore him. The more you give in to the dog, the harder it will be to stop him from begging for food.
It will take several weeks to several months to train the dog to stop begging. One way to prevent your dog from begging for food is to feed him at the same time the family eats dinner.
If you don’t want to feed the dog at dinner time, you can buy a toy for him. The toy will keep your dog occupied and he should forget about begging for food.
